Background info:
NOHA Awareness Raising Seminars (ARS’) address humanitarian issues of concern to the wider audience of policy and decision makers, civil servants, academics, and humanitarians at large.

The scope of these seminars varies depending on the level of humanitarian activity in the host country. In countries with relatively limited humanitarian activity, these seminars have served to create awareness of the European Humanitarian Programme, more recently the European Consensus on Humanitarian Aid (http://ec.europa.eu/echo/policies/consensus_en.htm).

Venues are selected to coincide with the EU Presidency countries. Hence, this seminar coincides with the Spanish presidency of the EU (January- June 2010).
