The admission to the NOHA Masters on Humanitarian Action degree programme may be granted to applicants who meet the following common admission criteria:
Candidates must have completed a good level first cycle degree in a discipline of relevance to humanitarian action.
Candidates are required to have a recognised qualification in the language(s) of instruction of the university that they plan to attend:

Knowledge of languages of the place of study is an asset.
Practical experience in the area of humanitarian action in governmental, inter-governmental, and/ or nongovernmental organisations and institutions is valued.
Completed applications received.
Selection criteria include motivation; academic qualifications; language skills; research experience and professional experience.
REGISTRATION FEE: Euro 10,000 for the whole study programme (3 semesters) to be paid to the network.
Students receive as part of the grant a fixed amount of 10,000 to be paid in two instalments of 5,000 each per year. In order to facilitate the management of the transfer of the lump sum and the registration fee and, in order to reduce costs for money transfer, students can authorise the NOHA Mundus Consortium to deduct the registration fee from the lump sum.

Selection Procedure
The NOHA Joint Selection Committee will select the third-country candidates applying for Erasmus Mundus scholarships. The corresponding NOHA selection committee at each Network university will make the preliminary selection of the other candidates.
The Erasmus Mundus scholarship candidates will be proposed to the European Commission. The European Commission will take a decision on the scholarships within the month of April. Grantees will be contacted directly afterwards.
Common Selection Criteria
Noha Mundus Scholarship Candidates will be selected according to these common selection criteria which will be taken into consideration altogether:
A. Applicant criteria (based on the application submitted)
- Mark and quality of first degree (Which mark and from what university or programme)
- Degree close to humanitarian action (Medical fields, anthropology, journalism, political science, law, engineers, international relations, management)
- Time spend to receive first degree and way of conducting studies (Short and focused, if long additional activities, richness of studies depending on field, additional activities besides studies)
- Having worked or studied in an interdisciplinary environment (Type of first degree studies or additional experience outside the first degree studies)
- Language abilities and practical application in studying or working (Which language besides mother tongue, proof, study or work experience)
- Work experience in humanitarian action or related fields
- Work experience in other areas (Type of job, how long, reasons to leave)
- Having worked or studied abroad (Outside the country and in a different language and cultural environment)
- Present job position (Relevance to the course or humanitarian action)
- Motivation for NOHA-course (expectations, own contribution)
B. Applicant prognosis (based on interview or written material presented)
- Soft qualities for course (Willingness to learn in an interdisciplinary environment with heavy workload, working in groups)
- Does the social set up allow for successful study (Where does the student want to live?)
- Financial means to do the course (Is the student supported or are there private financial resources and can the demands of the course regarding material be met, are there opportunities to receive a scholarship?)
- Possibility to find a job in humanitarian action or elsewhere field or academic career (CV, age and environment in their countries)
C. Balancing (based on evaluation of overall number and types of applications)
- Disciplinary balance and interesting experience in humanitarian action
- NOHA balance: to ensure quality enrolment is limited to about 20 students per university.
- Representation of third countries, including disaster prone countries: at least 3 of the 20 places per university are reserved to third-country students.
- Geographical and gender balance of the selected third country students: no more than 25% of the selected third-country students should come from the same country and no more than 10% of the selected third-country students should come from the same institution.
