Full Members

Any European higher education institution can apply for NOHA full membership if:

  • It has a legal status and is legally constituted in accordance with the laws and practices of the country where its seat is located;
  • It is recognised as such by the competent public authorities of the State where it has its seat;
  • It awards diploma(s) of advanced higher education, which are accredited by the competent national authorities in one or more fields related to humanitarian assistance and/or whose activities contribute towards achieving the objectives of the association; and if
  • It undertakes research work that is acknowledged by the European scientific community in one or more fields related to humanitarian assistance.

The number of full members is limited to one per country. Each full member is responsible for the coordination of the activities of the Association in the country where its seat is located.

Institutions interested in NOHA full membership must address a written application letter to the President of the NOHA Association with a copy to the NOHA Secretary General, underlying their motives, expectations, and potential contribution to the work of the Network.

NOHA Master’s Universities’

Some full members are referred to as ‘NOHA Master’s Universities’. These are currently seven universities that deliver the Joint European Master's in International Humanitarian Action - NOHA Master's, in short. They are continuously engaged in joint multidisciplinary and intercultural education, training, and research in the area of Humanitarian Action since over a decade ago. They have gradually integrated the joint training and research programme into their respective curricula, achieving a high degree of co-operation and integration, while preserving their speciality and traditions.
