Degree award and recognition

All the universities have their Masters degree legally recognised by the relevant authorities of the countries concerned.

After sucessfully completing all programme components students will be awarded a Joint Dipolma in International Humanitarian Action from the home and host universities and a double Diploma when the University of Uppsala is involved.

The Diploma Supplement is given to all students and a Joint Diploma Supplement will be awarded when allowed by national regulations.

In addition students also receive a Joint NOHA Certificate signed by the NOHA President and the NOHA General Secretariat on behalf of the Rectors of the seven European universities involved in the delivery of the programme. This is a certificate from the NOHA Association which has become quite significant when seeking employment.

The issuing of an official degree in Europe can take between 4-6 months or even one year. In any case never less than four months after the ending of the course because there are different instances involved.

According to national regulations students have to ask personally for the title and pay the corresponding taxes. Once it is issued, the interested should personally collect the title at the University or request the University to send him or her the document.
