Professional profiles and competencies

The Joint European Master's in International Humanitarian Action has designed the following competencies:

I- Systemic Competencies:
No Image Capacity to develop a global vision of the context of conflict, emergency, and vulnerable situations;
No ImageCapacity to develop an interdisciplinary understanding and comprehensive analysis of conflict and emergency situations;
No ImageCapacity to develop ways of coping with consequences of disasters and conflicts in close connection with beneficiaries, looking for durable and self-sustainable solutions;
No ImageCapacity to analyse complex emergencies and conflict situations;
No ImageAwareness of the potential impact of humanitarian action on the life of the beneficiaries;
No ImageCapacity to assess ways of intervention used by humanitarian aid agencies; and

No ImageCapacity to assess consequences of international intervention and programmes of reconstruction.

II- Practical Competencies:
No ImageCapacity to organise and plan humanitarian relief operations;
No ImageAbility to react and take decisions in an operational setting;
No ImageManagement and administration abilities;
No ImageAppropriate use of evaluation methods and techniques;
No ImageGood use of humanitarian relief techniques (from practice and analysis of academic concepts);
No ImageSkills to assess the relief context;
No ImageFamiliarity with humanitarian aid operations;

No ImageCapacity to anticipate problem situations and possible solutions.
